Took the Caravan to San Antonio, Texas

Took the caravan to San Antonio, Texas for spring break and we had so much fun! I love to write a blog post and make a vlog after every trip I take. Our last big trip I went on with the boys was to Disneyland right before the quarantine. You can see that post HERE. It was fun to get a nice break for a week.

San Antonio

With so many restrictions with traveling now we had to get creative in where we went for Spring break. We usually love to go to Hawaii or Florida, but those flights are a little too long with toddlers. I was nervous about them having to wear their maske for that long so we decided to find a place with a short flight.

We also wanted to go somewhere warm so we thought Texas would be a fun place. My dad has a lot of Marriott points so we searched different Marriott hotels in Texas and the JW Marriott in San Antonio looked so fun. They had their own private water park and even a small beach.

My cousin Summer came on the trip with us to help me out with the boys. When I was hugging her goodbye after the trip I said “thanks for being my husband for the week” and laughed. The boys are in that really fun stage where they run off in different directions and never look back. I was very grateful for her help watching them at the pool and taking them swimming. We also went with my sister and her kids which made it even more fun because the boys love playing with their cousins.

Activities we did in San Antonio

There was actually a lot of fun activities for us to do while we were there. We spent most of the time at our hotel because it was so fun, but on the colder days we went out and did some fun activities.

River walk

One night we all went down to the River walk and it was so fun and so beautiful. We took a boat ride down the river and the boys absolutely loved that. It was a fun way to see everything and made for a fun night. We decided to leave the stroller which I was glad about because the walkways got narrow and you had to go down stairs to get to the River Walk. Just make sure to hold on to your kiddos as you walk because you would not want them to fall into the water.

Caverns

Another fun activity to do in San Antonio is the caverns. It was just a different and fun thing to do and was so cool to be able to walk through. I know Justin would have absolutely loved going to something like this so it was fun to share that experience with the boys. This was another leave your stroller at home activity and we just held the boys as we walked through. They had a lot of fun!

They also had some really cute shops and a huge rope course for kids of all ages. We tried to get the boys to do the toddler section and they had a complete meltdown. Such a bummer because I know they would have loved it! My sisters kids all went and had an absolute blast. I know Justin would have loved to do it himself!

Sea World

The last big activity we did in San Antonio was going to Sea World. I hadn’t been since I was a kid so I was kinda excited to go and take the boys. I didn’t realize how big it is and that they have roller coasters as well. They had three big shows which were so fun and beyond amazing. The boys loved seeing all the exhibits and they even had little toddler rides. Unfortunately we went during spring break week so it was really busy, but we still had such a fun day!

We had such a fun trip! The flight was kinda stressful with the boys having to wear mask, but everything else was so fun and it was nice to get a week off to relax.

  1. Was sorry when it ended! What lucky boys- my highlights- tapping your dad’s hand to cue “I want ice cream” 😂 and their talking! Really growing up and such a joy to witness from the snippets you share with us. Lovely to see you having a break too 😃😃
