The best checklist for Toddler winter clothes

in Motherhood on 10/06/21

I put together a checklist for toddler winter clothes you will need this winter season. As parents of growing toddlers we are buying a new wardrobe every year and it can be helpful to be reminded of those items we need to check off our list each winter season. I linked some of my staple items I love to buy for my boys each year.

Toddler Winter Clothes Checklist

I put together a checklist of toddler winter clothes you will need this year. Its hard when your toddler grows so fast and you have to buy new clothes every winter season. I know the checklist I put together is pretty obvious, but it can be helpful to look through and get some new ideas. I have some staple items that I rebuy every year in a different size. I share those below and some new clothing items that I thought were super cute. You can find links to all the clothing below the picture. Hope this helps make prepping for winter a little easier for you.

1. Long sleeve shirts

The first toddler winter clothes item on the checklist is long sleeve shirts. It can get cold enough that my boys need to wear long sleeve shirts inside the house. I live in Colorado and some days are nice enough that all they need is a long sleeve shirt and they don’t need a jacket. I have between 5 and 10 shirts they rotate through during the winter. Links to shirts below picture.

1. blue button up shirt // 2. Gray shirt // 3. Striped sweater // 4. Red and blue shirt // 5. Red checkered shirt // 6. Gray sweatshirt // 7. Navy blue shirt
1. Burgundy sweater // 2. Pink sweater with caller // 3. Orange shirt // 4. Purple peplum // 5. Pink long sleeve

2. Pants

The second toddler winter clothes item on the checklist are pants. This is pretty obvious that your kids would need to be in pants all of winter. I like having a couple pair of jeans and sweat suits to rotate through. When the boys are at home most days I have them in their sweat pants. Its nice to have a variety of options.

I linked some of my favorite pants that I buy for my boys. The skinny jeans from H&M are by far my favorite and I just rebuy them in a bigger size each year. I also buy the Cat and Jack army green style of pants every year as well.

1. Skinny stretchy jeans // 2. Skinny Stretchy Jeans black // 3. Zipper pocket black pants // 4. Green Pants // 5 Three pack slim fit denim joggers
1. Leggings (3 pack) // 2. Skirt // 3. Jean pants // 4. Black Levi’s

3. Jacket/Coats

The third toddler winter clothes item on the checklist is a jacket or a winter coat. I live in Colorado and some days during the winter it can get up in the 50’s and 60’s and my boys will just need a jacket. I always have at least one jacket and one winter coat to get them through the winter. I linked some coats and jackets below.

1. Gray coat fur hood // 2. Blue coat fur hood // 3. Blue puff coat // 4. Black and white chevron // 5. Jean jacket // 6. Black jean jacket
6. Gray jacket fur hood // 7. Blue jacket fur hood 9. Red puff jacket // 10. Blue puff jacket

4. Shoes

The fourth toddler winter clothes item on the checklist are shoes. For the winter I always have a nice pair of shoes that my boys can wear to nicer events. I then have another pair of shoes they wear pretty much everyday. I will link some of my favorites below and link the ones my boys wear.

For my boys I have the knock off converse from Amazon and I love them. They are so cute and go with everything. I also have the black tennis shoes with velcro (#4 below) and my boys wear that all winter as well.

Boy Winter Shoes

1. Tan boot with strap // 2. Converse knock offs // 3. Blue velcro // 4. Black tennis shoes 5. // Back boots // 6. Addidas// 7. Tan boot // 8. Gray shoes

Girl Winter Shoes

1. Tan booties // 2. Pink boots // 3. Leopard boots // 4. Velcro Pink Tennis shoes // 5. Pink tennis shoes // 6. Pink boots // 7. Purple sneakers

Winter Boots

Last year I got #4 boots from target for my boys and they worked great. I like that it had the strap for easy slip on and slip out.

1. Pink Boots // 2. Brown and Black boots // 3. Black boot with velcro strap // 4. Gray with fur top // 5. Rubber boot // 6. Gray and blue shoes // 7. Gray and pink boots // 8 Black and blue // Brown shoes

5. Hat

The last toddler winter clothes item on the checklist is a hat. My boys don’t let me put hats on them often, but when its cold outside they don’t seem to fight me on it. I will have one beanie that is more lightweight for the everyday use. Then I will have a warmer hat for the days they are playing in the snow or I know we will be outside for awhile.

I linked some of my favorite hats below that my boys have worn. I have the number one set with the six hats and love that for everyday use. I bought the number 7 Carhartt hat for my boys for snow play and colder winter. I love that it wraps around their chin and keeps their ears warm.

1. 6 pack colored beanie // 2. Pink beanie // 3. Buffalo Check // 4. Carhartt 5.// Stripped and Gray Beanie // 6. Black Hat // 7. Carhartt Bubba Hat

See more winter Hats from Target HERE

Gloves

I love gloves that come up high enough to go over their coat sleeve so snow doesn’t come in. I have the number two fleece gloves for everyday use when we go on a walk or go to the park.

1. Black Gloves // 2: Soft fleece mittens black // 3. Magic Gloves // 4. Purple mittens // 5. Pink and gray mittens
